Welcome to our website, created to provide an insight into our both friendly and competitive club.

Established in 1924 and still flourishing with a male, female and social membership in excess of 100. You will find our present day management well prepared for 21st century bowling.

Our aim is to bring the enjoyment of bowls to players of all levels, young and old, in a friendly and welcoming environment.

The outdoor season starts around Mid April and ends Mid September. During that time we play over 30 Friendly matches against other clubs usually at the weekends. In these games bowlers of all abilities are invited to take part. Bowls being a social game it is important to mention most matches involve a light snack and if you wish, a soft or alcoholic drink from our well stocked bar.

Our social Calendar includes coffee mornings during the winter on the first Saturday of every month at the club, and other events  on a Saturday such as a Quiz night, games evening, skittles evening and a canal trip during the Summer .

Our more adventurous members have organised bowls holidays to Potters in Norfolk, Spain and the Isle of Wight.

Most afternoons and evenings in the week one can play social bowling (called roll ups) when the game is simply played for fun and is a great time to improve ones play. Every Wednesday there is an organised roll up session for players of all ability to take part, additionally free coaching for beginners is provided.

There is also a competitive side to the club consisting of ladies, men's and mixed league teams, County and district games and our own internal competitions.

All of this takes place on a bowls  green maintained by our members which is considered one of the best in the area.

Added to all of this is our short mat bowls programme which runs from September through to April  taking place in our club house. Organised roll up sessions take place every weekday except Thursday when we have 2 teams taking part in a local friendly league, again free coaching is provided.

So for a modest annual fee ( one of the lowest in the area)  you can play as often or as little as you like, we always have vacancies for new and experienced bowlers and welcome the opportunity to invite you to our friendly club.
